ABOUT THE PROJECT:
In a collaborative effort I worked alongside the Creative Team at Woodmen Valley Chapel to produce a modern retelling of the iconic nativity story of Jesus' birth. Artistic liberty was taken to place the young Mary and Joseph in present day America as they travel across the country while Mary is late in her pregnancy. Wise men who saw a brilliantly shining star are compelled to follow it and discover where it leads.
In the spirit of cinema, we decided to film the entire video in anamorphic and pair it with a performance-style music video of Woodmen's Worship Team. I filmed the majority of the footage and colored it myself, while my colleague, Brian Whitman, edited the clips and recorded the music. I had to dust off some of my VFX skills with optical flares to create the shots with the star, but I was pleased with the end result. The video and song are both very touching and I am pleased to have been a part of this project!
